Since I haven't posted any updates on the baby in a while, I thought I'd do one today.
- I am 27 weeks along and have been feeling pretty good.
- I am having a hard time sleeping at night, mostly because my hips hurt.
- I waddle when I walk, until I catch myself and then I try to walk normally.
- I have gained 8 pounds, so far. My scale says I've put on another few already this month. Ouch! Too much cake.
- The baby is breech, but that's not a big deal right now. She switches positions a lot, so I'm not worried.
- I only have 2 pairs of casual pants and 2 pairs of dress pants that fit me. I only have 4-5 shirts that fit as well. I am getting tired of wearing the same thing, so I may have to break down and buy me a few more things.
- Apparently, I don't have gestational diabetes. I took the test on August 28th, and I haven't heard anything from the doctor's office. Yeah! No finger pricking this time!
- I go in on Tuesday to check my thyroid again. They have changed my prescription 2 times now and I have to have blood taken each time to make sure it's working. This time however, I found out that I was taking my medication wrong. The pharmacist told me I can't take it with my prenatal pills because the calcium in the prenatal bonds to the thyroid medicine and makes it null and invalid. So I started taking them separately. Should be interesting to see how my levels look this time.
- I went to the Old Navy baby sale and had some clothes in hand and walking toward the register, but stopped myself and decided to wait another month or so before I buy anything. (Only because we have spent a lot this month on birthdays and as of this past weekend, a new washer.)
- Last appointment I measured 2 weeks ahead of my due date, but they say that can be normal.
My next appointment is on 9/25.

Aaron's birthday
Aaron celebrated his 35th birthday on 9/10. His day started with a pancake breakfast at 6:30 am. Donuts from Dunford Bakery arrived at his office at approximately 8:45 am (compliments of me). If you haven't ever had a Dunford chocolate cake donut, you're really missing out.
When he got home, Aaron and I went to dinner at Yapona in American Fork. It is a newer sushi / Japanese cuisine restaurant. Aaron had a couple sushi rolls, I had a steak. We both enjoyed pot stickers and edamame as appetizers. Overall it was really tasty. Aaron thinks the sushi is slightly more expensive than Tepanyaki, but it was still good.
We got back from dinner and brought Aaron an eclair with a candle in it. The girls and I sang Happy Birthday and then watched Aaron open presents.
It was a quiet evening, but everyone enjoyed themselves and I think Aaron had a good time. We watched the Transformers HD-DVD until bedtime and called it a night.
Happy birthday Aaron. We love you!

Gretchen's 6th Birthday
Gretchen turned 6 on September 9th. We started the celebration early by having pancakes for breakfast, instead of our normal cereal. At school, she brought Kit Kats as a treat. 2 other kids in her class have the same birthday, so there were lots of treats.
After getting sweaty on the playland slides, we went home and Marni, McKay, Miley, Shea and Jordan came over for presents, cake and ice cream.
Gretchen got lots of presents, including a new fishing pole, some clothes, a blue bouncy ball, some movies, games, a soft dog (which she slept with that night), a book bag with notebooks, pencils, paper clips and push pins. She loved all of the presents and was really good about saying "thank you" after each one.
One of her favorite presents was from Shelby. Shelby bought it with her own money. It was Littlest Pet Shop animals. Shelby was a great sister to buy that and I was very proud of the love she showed Gretchen. That just goes to prove that no matter how many times Shelby says the thinks Gretchen wants to kill her, Shelby still really loves her. Phew!
After presents, we brought in the cake. This year, I'm all about easy, so we ordered the cake from Costco. Gretchen picked out a soccer cake, since she and Shelby are in soccer this year. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and white frosting. I am loving it, because I have been craving chocolate cake.
It was a good day. I am surprised at how much Gretchen has grown up in the past year. Some days you just want to put a rock on their head to keep them from growing up more, but we are excited to see the kind of girl she will become. We love you Gretchen!!!!
