We had some very sad news over the past week and I thought I'd share.
1. My uncle Ken Harris was rushed to Boise and diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. It is a very aggressive type and positioned in the middle of his brain, so they weren't able to get all of it out during surgery. Several family members were there before and after his surgery. (I was unable to be there, due to family commitments.)
We are praying for him and Debbie, Kareen and Kameron and plan to visit after the holidays.
2. Aleta's son Matthew also has a tumor in his brain. He will undergo surgery on the 20th to remove what they can and to determine if it is cancerous. He has done a scan and found no other cancer in his body, which is good. He'll find out after Christmas the results of the biopsy. More prayers headed his way.

Las Vegas Baby!
They were doing a Winter Fest, so we watched a cool show outside. We shopped part of the time as well - since there's a maze of shops right downstairs. The first night, we ate at Delmonico - an Emeril Lagasse restaurant in the hotel. We had brunch at Caesar's Palace and saw Jersey Boys the next day.
Shelby was grateful we didn't gamble away her college fund. In fact, we won enough to cover our tickets to the show and dinner. Yeah!
It was a great weekend and a very needed break from work and responsibilities. Thanks to grandma and grandpa for watching the kids while we were away.
The Jenkins Family Christmas Tree
Instead of fighting the crowds at Walmart, the Jenkins family trekked above Heber to hunt down our Christmas tree. While Aaron and I trudged through knee deep snow for about an hour, the girls frolicked and played in the snow. (sledding and throwing snowballs) All I know is when I got back to the truck, they were cold, wet and tired. :-)
Aaron staked out a really good one and we quietly stalked it. After sneaking up on it, we were able to take it down. The problem with hunting trees, is after you take it down, you have to pack it out. We were smart though and hunted uphill. :-)

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was a crazy holiday as usual. Lots of preparation, lots of food, but best of all is lots of family. We had Kelli and Jonathon join us, which was awesome! I have been loving having Kelli close by. People think we look like twins, even though she has a twin of her own and I'm a few+ years younger.
The kids had a blast watching Vines after dinner. They giggled and snickered for at least an hour. Above are, Bailey, Preston, Gretchen, J Michael, Jonathon, Parker and in front are Shelby and Brittney.
