Harvest time

 Happy Fall everyone!  This is the first year we've been able to harvest apples from our trees.  In the past, either wind, cold or birds have decimated our crop.  This year, however, the branches hung to the ground with fruit and they taste wonderful!!!     

 We had a great carrot year too.  Check out the size of the carrot on the left.  

Check out ole Carrotpants!  We had a couple carrots like this and it still makes me giggle.  

Our chickens finally started laying eggs.  They are a light olive green in color.  Guess we won't need to dye eggs for Easter this year!!!

My best friend Beckie and I decided to rat our hair and drive around town to get strange looks from other people.  Jer was a good sport and did it too.  I'm so glad we were able to get this completely awesome photo taken to remember it.

Soccer

 Gretchen and her friend Addie doing the parent tunnel at their own game!!  Gretchie's team had a rough first season in the competition league.  Hard to go from being undefeated for 3 years to losing all but 1 game.  They kept their spirits up and had a great time.  They also improved a lot and are ready to kick some butt in the spring!!!

Bailey and her cute little friends had a great season.  I think Bailey has scored 3 goals so far.  They have a few kids a game who are ready to play and the rest of the team is usually running in circles or staring off in space.  It makes it frustrating and hilarious to watch.  At least she's having a good time!

Happy 75th Dad and Happy Retirement April!

Dad turned 75 this year.   :-)  April also decided it was time to retire.  The Pleasant Grove Library will miss her leadership!  To celebrate, we had a party in their backyard with both sides of the family.  

As a gift for these two big occasions, the Harrison kids pooled their money to buy them 3 date nights.  

1.  A night stay at the Grand America with a Sunday Brunch. 
2.  A dinner at Ruth's Chris
3.  A night at the movies

We hope they put these to good use and DON'T share details of the night's stay!!!  

Shelby and Mom date night

Aaron surprised Shelby and I with a night out at the Taste Boutique at Gardner Village.  We selected the Friday the 13th Spooky Treats night where they made caramel apples, pear tarts, boston scream cake and vampire cookies.  It was fun to spend some time alone with Shelby and we got some really fun recipes.

We had a fun time celebrating Gretchie's birthday.  Top 5 events:

1. She requested Iggy's for dinner. Shocking! 
2. We had a Minecraft creeper cake/ice cream with the Harrison side of the family.
3. She and her friend Shaydee went to the Alpine Slide / Coaster

4.  It rained after they rode the slide - it closed as soon as the first drop fell.

5.  She got a new iTouch from mom and dad. 

Bailey's first day of Pre-School

Bailey started pre-school at the beginning of September.  She has learned how to spell her name and several other small words.  I'm so glad she gets to feel like a big girl with her backpack and will have a good understanding of how Kindergarten works before she gets there next year.  She has gone to the fire house on a field trip and will be going to a pumpkin patch next week.  fun stuff!!!
